BATIK. IKAT. TENUN
Textiles have become much more than pieces of fabric, they tell stories of their origin.
ABOUT US
Started the shop in 2011 as a batik purveyor, we’ve met and curated hundreds of artisans textiles in different regions, hearing their stories and also seeing the patterns that evolved through the years. Through the patterns, they initiated a form of storytelling about the artisans and their origins.
Since then, we are interested in trying to think about how we can use patterned fabric as a way to say something about ourselves or explore our self-identity.
And that is how Kiah’s started.
SUSTAINABLE
From switching in-person sourcing to online communication (reducing carbon footprint) to championing traditional craftsmanship, we are driven by conscious consumption. We reduce waste by preventing overstock and creating bespoke pieces, Any scraps of fabric will be reused to create something new - table mats, masks, or pets outfit.
UNIQUELY YOURS
Focusing on our client’s personal connection with the patterns and then collaborating with them to create clothing designs of their own representation.
